The EU will provide up to €40,000 to finance projects for refurbishing cultural-historical sites on both banks of the Dniester River in the Republic of Moldova.
The prospective projects may include historical buildings, monuments, archaeological sites and natural objects as well as works of art such as documentaries or motion pictures, photos, pictures, books, collections and other products.
A total of 10 small-scale sites will be selected from the cultural-historical heritage. All of them will be renovated together with the Bender Fortress and Chisinau Circus, for which the process of preparing the refurbishing works has already been launched.
The inhabitants of both banks of the Dniester River are invited to identify cultural patrimony sites located in their communities that are in need of conservation or renovation and to share their opinions about the need of such an initiative and its impact on the cultural patrimony by filling in the participation form by 31 January 2020.
This contest of ideas is launched under the component for preserving/renovating cultural patrimony within the EU Confidence Building Measures Programme, implemented by the United Nations Development Programme.
